It was in 1950, at a home show, where Richard K. Ransom, the founder of Hickory Farms®, first got a taste of what people wanted in terms of specialty foods. He was selling cheese at the show…hand cut, hand wrapped and sold while the cheese still carried rich full-bodied flavour and fresh, mouth-watering aroma.

The original Hickory Farms® concept was to give people a taste of old-fashioned quality and value in a country store atmosphere where personal, friendly service places the customer first. Over the years, the concept is still as strong as it ever was.

But now we can offer a larger line of specialty foods, which look, smell and taste as good as they did in Grandma's day.
